Federal bill funds $70M yearly to boost opioid trafficking enforcement

What does this do?

HR 8818 creates a federal grant program administered by the COPS Office within the Department of Justice to help law enforcement agencies combat fentanyl and opioid trafficking. Grant funds may be used to hire and train officers, purchase equipment, pay overtime, and establish or expand multi-agency task forces.
