HUD would draft voluntary rules for single-staircase apartment buildings under new bill

What does this do?

HR 6345 directs HUD to develop model rules, best practices, and technical guidance for "point-access block" buildings, which are apartment buildings up to five stories tall that use a single shared staircase. HUD would have 18 months to publish these guidelines and must coordinate with the International Code Council.
